The groups were for the Three Gorges Dam project, 2 of the groups were the groups were for the project and the the other 2 were against it. We have to take notes based on your group. For example if you were for the project you would make poitivbe notes about and if you were against it you would do the exact opposite. A reminder is tomorrow is the China map quiz, and tomorrow you will also continue on the project.

In class on Friday we watched a very intresting movie on North India. Did you know that Asia has the 2nd largest population in the world? Well it does, also in India cows are sacred. Not only that but, in Varanas many people die there because of Shiva, the god of death and this place is supposed to be her home. Did I mention the Taj Mahal? The Shah of India built this in 1631 for his wife, but then a tragedy happened and his wife died of her 15 child. It took 22 years to complete the Taj Mahal, even with 20,000! Plus, the ceremonies of Hindu include Krishna this is a celebratoin of birth. At the celebrations of Krishna the people touch the fire, you may think this is unusuall but to them they think it is a blessing from god. There is also Hindu karma, karma is what you did yesterday will depend on what you do today, and what you do today will effect your day tomorrow. You might be wondering what a Ghet is well that is the holy book of the Hindu religion. Besides that, you’ve have New Delhi and Old Delhi, Old Delhi is the old capital of India and New Delhi the new capital. New Dheli is the 2nd largest Metropolis in India. Last but not least is, Corbett National Park, this is the first National Park in India. Not to mention, it was named after Jim Corbett, a hunter that shot man eating tigers. This park is famous for their resident tigers. Some of the animals include tigers, deer, wild boar, leapards, nocturnal cats, sloth bear, black bears, wild dogs, indian gray mongoose, common otter, and many more. That is basicly a little bit of what North India is like.

On Friday we read a article called Crude Awakening by Emma Davy. It talked about the oil use throut the United States. The scientest of the US government made an estimate that the amount of oil in the ground is about 2.6 trillion barrels or 156 liters, 52 gallons. That may seem like alot but not all of the oil can you take. There is also a thing called a oil shale wich is very expensive to get out of the ground. The oil shale has to be heated at to 480 degrees celsius or 900 degrees farenheit. But we are coming up with new ways to prevent using so much oil by now driving cars like the MiniCat wich is the worlds cleanest car and does not run on oil but it uses compressed air. Also out of all the oil in the world we use 25%. That is strange because we don’t even provide that much oil and yet we use most of it too. Oil also provides 40% of worlds energy. So soon if the oil starts to run out we might have to turn to dirastic changes. And the United States is only 4% of the worlds population. Also in the past years the oil use has gone up very high. So overall if we do not stop using so much oil then our country will have to change and cut down on oil!

My best friend is Kat. Kat and I are always hanging out together almost every weekend. We have alot of things in common like we both love to watch the same things, play with the same things, and act the same.We have been friends since 3rd grade. In 4th grade we did not really hang out that much but then in 5th grade it all changed because we were in the same class and were best buds.We have this tradition where every year on New Years I sleep over her house and we go out to dinner and pretend we are zillionaire and we have this buttler named chanci or something like that and we live in cali and we have are own table. But obvously we did not do it this year because she went to Florida.Last year in 5th grade we got in a little car accident and it was freaky but then we got all these things that are for a spa and we painted are toenails and fingernails and forgot about the little accident.I remember the time she came over and it was sooooooo much fun she sleepover and we made this video of us and it was really funny. Now you know my best friend!
