Kemal Ataturk

Dear American friend,

An interesting fact about Kemal Ataturk is he was a military hero and Turkeys first President. Some of the things that Kemal Ataturk has accomplished here is he has modernized the whole culture here in Turkey by putting more political, social changes and other changes too. Before Kemal Ataturk arrived here in Turkey the country was very old fashion and everyone practiced Muslim religion. However Muslim faith is still practiced but not as many people practice Muslim religion. If it was not for Kemal then the Turkey we know would not be as vibrant and full of life like it is now it would be more like a Muslim culture and be more colonial.   Kemal Ataturk put an end to the Ottoman Empire in 1923 and started the Turkey republic witch made a huge change to Turkey and brought it into the 20^th century! Kemal ruled Turkey to 1923-1938 but, at least when he was the president in Turkey he ruled well. Kemal also modernized the country by using the Latin alphabet for writing, European life style and European names. At first the Turkish people thought that Kemal Ataturk was trying to change the religion and the way the Turkish people live, he just wanted the Turkish people to act like the world around them and more modern but, soon the Turkish people saw that. Kemal Ataturk A.K.A the father of the Turks lived to 1881-1938, so he passed away while he was still the President. Kemal is still famous in Turkey and there are many statues of Kemal Ataturk when you enter the country Turkey. Another positive fact about Kemal Ataturk is that he was always positive. So, overall the country Turkey would be less modern, republic, and vibrant and alive without the help of Kemal Ataturk!
